ComEd Cannot Support Chicago’s Energy Grid!
Chicago’s electric infrastructure is woefully inadequate to move to an electric-only energy source. ComEd does not have adequate system capacity in the city or state for the amount of increased energy needed.
Additionally:
The U.S. is facing a nationwide transformer shortage that will result in significant delays in upgrading the grid.
Infrastructure upgrades will cost Billions. Who foots the bill? Taxpayers!
ComEd’s electric grid generation emits more carbon than natural gas, or alternatives, like renewable natural gas and hydrogen.
Why is City Council looking to increase ComEd’s profits?
